Our Business

Commissioned furniture designed and crafted just for you is our business.  We are John and Laura, a husband and wife team with more than 40 years of woodworking experience designing and building fine furniture.  We have made furniture, cabinets, boxes, bars, canoes and more. 

H&M WoodWorks became a full time pursuit in 2003 after we retired from our jobs with manufacturing and economic development.  Now we concentrate on fine furniture, cabinetry, built-ins and gift items.  We have a passion for what we do!!

John and Laura enjoy creating a wide variety of styles in response to our customer's wishes.  We work in woods such as cherry, oak, hickory, maple and walnut as well as more exotic species; always selecting the finest woods to make your pieces.  Fine finishes bring out the beauty of every piece.

Custom design means that the customer and the custom furniture makers work together to design pieces that fit you, your lifestyle, your space, and your artistic sense.
